GIGLIO
ISLAND
Like a pearl in a oyster the Island of Giglio lies cradled
in the warm blue sea of the Tirreno.

The
Island of Giglio is about 18 Km from the coast of the
Argentario, covers an area of 22 Kmq with it's highest
point reaching 498m, and has a population of 1.700, the three
communities being Giglio Castello (the capital), Giglio
Porto and Giglio Campese.

Her
clear waters earn her first
place among the cleanest seas of Italy and her mild climate
offers to the tourist a holiday full of surprises in all season:
Cristal clear emerald coloured waters, sea beds rich
with fish, a rocky coastline of smooth granite, broken by bays,
coves
and sandy beaches, flora and fauna of great beauty and interest,
numerous minerals, and everywhere the obvious signs of her ancient
origins. The territory, of wich more than 90% remains uninhabited
lends itself to delightful walks to discover the countryside
and the uncontaminated sea, such as few places in the world
